Setting Up a Custom Domain with HostGator

Prerequisites

A purchased domain.
Access to your domain registrar’s DNS management section.

Step 1: Log in to HostGator

Step 2: Navigate to the Domains Section

Go to the Domains section in your HostGator dashboard.

Step 3: Access the Simple Zone Editor

Click on the Simple Zone Editor.

Step 4: Create a Subdomain

In the Name field, enter the subdomain you wish to create (e.g., "track").

Step 5: Add a Record

Access your domain hosting service’s DNS management section.
Add the following DNS record details:

Record Type: CName

Name or Host: Your prefix of domain name (or) sub domain name, eg, "app".mydomain.com

Value or Target: cname.voicemetrics.ai

Click Save to add your DNS.

Notes

SSL Configuration: It automatically generates an SSL certificate for your custom domain. If not, you may need to install one manually.
DNS Propagation Time: DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to reflect globally.
